Amir Khan Mutaqi, the acting foreign minister of the Taliban, has provided misleading information, which has been broadcasted by some media outlets.

The head of the Taliban’s foreign ministry has claimed that Afghanistan’s security is better than its neighboring countries. However, this claim can be proven to be baseless and misleading with several examples.

Afghanistan shares its borders with six neighboring countries, including Pakistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and China. Therefore, the claim that Afghanistan’s security is better than these countries is unfounded.

Perhaps Amir Khan Mutaqi made this claim after recent attacks by Pakistani Taliban militants against Pakistan military. However, it cannot be ignored that the threats posed by various terrorist groups within Afghanistan, such as Daesh, Al-Qaeda, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, and other terrorist groups, continue to pose a significant threat to Afghanistan and region countries security.

According to the United Nations Security Council report, Afghanistan remains the primary source of terrorist threat for Central and South Asia.

Previously, Amir Khan Muttaqi denied the presence of Daesh in Afghanistan, while this group carried out two attacks near his offic, and killing several employees of the ministery of foreign affairs.

Muttaqi also claims that Afghani currency is one of the world’s only currencies whose value has increased compared to the US dollar. However, despite receiving nearly $3 billion in aid from the international community in the past 20 months, the Afghan currency’s stability and value remain uncertain.
